NFTs are quickly becoming WEB3’s most well-known product, and, much like bitcoin, the NFT industry is seeing a comparable transformation. Many individuals believe that NFTs are overrated and that investing in a digital image that they can get for free from the Internet is a waste of money. Cryptocurrency went through a similar phase, with some predicting that in a few years, this concept would be forgotten and no one would remember what it was.

People frequently question how NFTs are valued or what factors influence their worth. For some, the answer might be the artwork or the artist who created it, or it could be the corporation that is supporting this endeavor. These factors do have a part in determining the value of an NFT, but in the end, it all boils down to three fundamental factors:

A. SCARCITY:

Assume your project has 10,000 NFTs. A competitor is also introducing a 1,000-piece NFT collection. They place a larger value on their NFTs than you do, and you’re not sure why. It’s simple: they’re releasing significantly fewer NFTs than you are, giving them the benefit of having a limited number of their artwork available. Because there are such a small number of their NFTs on the market, they can charge a premium price for them, and buyers are prepared to pay it.

Because each NFT in major NFT collections like Bored Ape, CryptoPunks, and Beeple is limited and unique, their collections are highly valued.

B. PROVENANCE:

The history of ownership is referred to as provenance. Buyers may discover who previously had this NFT, and if the NFT they want to buy was previously held by a celebrity or a well-known person, the price of that NFT skyrockets. The NFT may not be exceptional in any way, but its worth has increased as a result of its well-known owner.

C. FUTURE VALUE:

The younger generation is predicted to cherish digital artwork, and many people view NFTs as a long-term investment because such movements tend to gather up speed in the future, expanding their ecosystem and increasing their worth significantly. These works of art have the potential to become art history and command great prices, much like a vintage Chrysler vehicle from the 1920s is worth in today’s market. Because NFTs have potential future worth, they are valuable now. In the next five to ten years, it is expected that billions of dollars will be invested in the crypto-asset ecosystem, increasing the value of crypto-assets such as NFTs and cryptocurrency.

All of these factors combine to produce the outcome, which is the value of an NFT. No one knows what the future holds for us; it may become one of humanity’s greatest technical achievements or it could crash. Based on the progress made thus far, there is plenty of space for this ecosystem to expand, and we anticipate the introduction of more similar goods soon.
